Skilled Nursing Care Cincinnati

Skilled Nursing FAQ

What is Skilled Nursing care?

Skilled nursing care facilities are designed to provide assistance to individuals who have health conditions that necessitate constant monitoring and availability of medical personnel. Skilled nursing facilities provide Residents with 24-hour supervision, meals, activities and health management services.

What's the difference between Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living?

Skilled nursing facilities provided the highest level of care for seniors outside of a hospital, while assisted living is better option for seniors who need some help with bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, and eating, but do not require 24-hour-a-day medical care.

When is it time to consider Skilled Nursing?

If both medical and personal care needs have become too great to handle at home or in another senior living community, skilled nursing care may be the solution. Whether due to a recent hospitalization, or a worsening chronic illness, skilled nursing care is designed to handle a full range of medical needs. Skilled nursing care may also be a viable option when a higher level of care is temporarily needed after a hospitalization, but it is anticipated that the patient will ultimately be able to return home or an assisted living facility.
